Air Liquide Laboratories is one of the main R&D centers of the Air Liquide group. Its goal is to develop new and innovative solutions for the entire Air Liquide group. Air Liquide Laboratories is located at Innovation Campus Tokyo, inaugurated in March 2019. The new facility promotes collaboration with customers, start-up companies and academic partners. It gathers researchers and workers from all around the world in order to promote a multicultural work environment and skills diversity. The Campus develops the latest thin film deposition and etching technologies for applications in electronics, batteries and fuel cells, as well as strategies and solutions for the entire supply chain, production, purification, storage, transportation and distribution of low carbon hydrogen.

We are seeking an intern with computational knowledge, in order to further develop systematic data acquisition and treatment using the latest approaches including AI. It would be beneficial that the candidate is knowledgeable in organic, organosilicon and organometallic compounds and/or their use in thin film depositions. The intern works in teams with other researchers including synthesis chemists and deposition engineers, data scientists and utilizes and develops computing methods in order to develop novel and promising CVD/ALD precursors.

Responsibilities:

The person is required to be able to:

  • Collect physical property dataset of organometallic molecules from analytical tools (NMR, TG, DSC, etc) and documents (Scientific paper, Patent, etc)
  • Classification, conversion and modeling of collected dataset for machine learning 
  • Maintain and document collected and modified dataset and results of learning
  • Join an internal safety organization and be in charge of a specific subject
  • Good communication and relation skills with multi-national coworkers are required

Are you a MATCH?

Qualification:

  • PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science with a focus on computational, material,  physical chemistry and Chemoinformatics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and the use of AI tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to report and present information in a clear and concise manner 
  • Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment - Well-organized, self-motivated

Languages:

English fluency is a must have, Japanese fluency is nice to have

Duration:

The duration is negotiable, with a minimum of 6 months.
