Fintech Data Scientist（Full-Stack）

Enhance solutions in our financial services and internal issues with sophisticated fintech and data science technologies as a member of data science team which is one of tech department
■Job Description
The scope of work includes;
- Development of foreign exchange risk hedging algorithms
- Development of back-end data processing for our services
- Perform data analytical consulting work for clients
- Streamline internal operations using AI tech
- Automate monitoring of our clients system operations in our services.
【Schedule for a day- Example】
AM: Check the financial market and prepare support materials for clients
PM: Have a meeting with the customer success team, deal with requests from both clients and internal teams, proceed with R&D (research and development) work, have a team discussion with interns regarding application of cutting-edge theories to our cases (mathematics, textanalysis, image analysis, physics, etc.)
■Necessary qualifications:
- Strong motivation to build a career as a data scientist (full stack)
- Programming experience (approx. 1 year or more) *Any development scale and programing language don’t matter
- Logical thinking
- Experience in data analysis (statistics/machine learning) *Self-study experience is acceptable
■Preferable qualifications:
If you have any of the following experiences, you will be able to get used to the work at an early stage.
- Experience in Python, R, java, php, other object-oriented languages, etc.
- Experience in research or development of models using advanced mathematics such as stochastic processes
- Experience in processing of big data, images and text information
- Experience in development and management for services working in cloud
- Database construction and management
- Business level English capability or strong motivation to attain the capability (international students who are not good at Japanese are also welcomed)
- Deep understanding of your own major
- Accounting knowledge

And when i decided to be a data analyst, my CV was rejected by many companies due to lack of my experiences in data analysis despite my strong passion that is second to none”.

■About data science team and members
- We have 8 members including interns
- We do not split the team into some small functional teams like machine learning engineers, data engineers, and data analysts, etc.
- Tech department composed of data science and IT development is a global organization whose common language is English.
- We are professionals with well diversified expertise which provides members with good learning opportunities
- There are interns who bring modern theories from their universities to our company
■Data analytical environment
- Analytical server working in AWS (Linux, Docker, Python-jupyter, CPU/GPU)
- No restrictions on technologies used
■Mindset for application of data science technologies
- Not to predict the foreign exchange market, but to read it regarding the market as a detective novel.
- Instead of point-wise price prediction, we infer form of probability distribution of the price
- “Prediction” is only one of the factors to determine the optimal hedging strategy.
■Recruitment Process
Casual interview (if requested) → CV screening → First Interview → Skill(Potential) Check → Second Interview → Final selection
Hiring process can be changed.
Basically, interviews are done via online meetings and you will be asked to visit our office before the final selection.
