Department Overview

The Rakuten Ichiba Planning Department belongs to the Internet Shopping Mall "Rakuten Ichiba" service organization.
Within this department, the Business Planning Section's mission is to build a robust business structure that ensures the continuous growth of our Marketplace business, thereby playing a crucial role in steering our management.

- You will be involved in creating short- to mid-to-long-term business plans for Rakuten Ichiba, which is at the core of the Rakuten Group.
- You will have the opportunity to interact with various stakeholders across the entire business, including sales, marketing, and back-office departments, allowing you to gain broad knowledge and expertise.
- As part of a small, elite team, you will not be limited to a specific area but will gain experience across a wide range of tasks.

Position Details

Rather than being fixed to specific projects, you will flexibly share roles and participate in tasks across the board, based on individual skills, experience, and team circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulation of business plans and development of business strategies
- Problem analysis, design, and promotion of solutions
- Setting various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Monitoring plan progress – reviewing plan changes or action plans
- Various data analysis (e.g., purchasing trends, market trends)
- Planning, execution, and proposal of measures to improve productivity and profitability
- Internal coordination and promotion of cross-departmental projects
- Designing internal rules

Work Environment

The Business Planning Section is composed of six full-time employees, with team members ranging from their 20s to 40s actively contributing.

- Experience in business planning and management accounting in different industries.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in business promotion/development
- Basic documentation skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience in cross-organizational collaboration/cooperation

- Experience in sales
- Practical experience in KPI management and progress management
- Experience in the internet industry
- Experience in the retail industry
- Practical experience in budget-versus-actual management
- Experience in driving initiatives by involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience in autonomously designing and improving operations
- Data analysis skills using SQL, etc.
