SALARY & BENEFITS
In accordance with the pay scale determined and used in this program. Support is also offered for conferences, travel, and other research/creative related expenses. Annual bonuses may be possible.
JOB SUMMARY
The Psychological Studies Program at TUJ invites applications for a student-centered full-time faculty member to start in the Fall of 2025. Applicants should hold a doctorate degree in psychology at the time of employment. The program is looking for candidates who have a strong teaching and research background in some combination of neuroscience in psychology, clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, research methods, and social statistics. In addition to teaching introductory psychology courses and upper-level courses in their area of specialty, the successful candidate is expected to teach Senior Capstone. Applicants should demonstrate experience in undergraduate student research mentorship.
Faculty members at TUJ have the opportunity to teach a diverse student body from around the world. Candidates may be asked to teach traditional in-person classes, online classes, or hyflex classes. The successful candidate will collaborate with the division chair on the yearly course offerings.

TUJ is expanding, financially healthy, and has just hired over 25 new full-time faculty members in the last two years. Moreover, TUJ’s Kyoto location will open in Spring 2025, offering students opportunities to study in the storied cultural capital of Japan.
TUJ offers undergraduate majors to a broad mix of over 2,500 Japanese and non-Japanese degree-seeking students who will earn their degrees from Temple University through the Japan campus. Every semester, additional undergraduate students from Temple’s main campus and other universities converge on TUJ for a short-term study abroad experience.
In one of the most dynamic cities in the world, TUJ offers twelve full undergraduate majors ranging from Art to International Business to Asian Studies. Our faculty and staff are international, with 80 full-time faculty and instructional staff joined by experienced administrators and many part-time adjunct faculty from the professions, business, and the arts. TUJ holds classes in the fall and spring semesters (15 weeks) and over a well-enrolled 10-week summer semester.
